Operation Ride-Along – Connecting IT With the Classroom Experience
IT increasingly plays an important role in everything the College does. While much of our work is visible to the faculty, students and staff of the College, often IT staff feel disconnected from their impact on the success of the College and its students due to the back-office nature of many of our roles.
Fanshawe College has a number of initiatives aimed at soliciting student and faculty feedback. In 2017 we supplemented these initiatives with Operation Ride-along. Modeled after ride-alongs that are common with policing, this program puts IT staff in classroom settings to observe the successes and opportunities of IT in the classroom.
Sheridan College implemented a similar program where IT staff attended and observed Teaching and Learning within the classroom environment.
We will share feedback from these programs as well as other initiatives which connect us with our customers.
