T4/T4A Self-Service for Students: Seneca’s Technological Leap Towards CRA Compliance
Seneca’s payroll department is the owner of students T4/T4A. System wise, the payroll function sits within PeopleSoft HCM and that means the T4/T4As which are being processed in HCM system had to be made available to students through Student Center Self-Service pages. The delivered integration between Campus Solutions 9.0 and HCM 9.2 does not support the integration of Payroll data. Seneca came up with a Bolt-on Solution that enables students to provide their consent and view T4/T4A through student center in Campus Solutions, with the source data residing on the HCM side to avoid sensitive data compliance issues. This solution does not include customizations to any delivered objects on the Campus Solutions, reducing retrofitting impact during the upgrade to 9.2 and also does not include any customizations/changes on the HCM side. The Bolt-on resides on the Campus Solutions, fetching data from HCM tables and displaying to students through student center.
